About 9:30 PM Sunday, May 25, mommy started feeling contractions (even though she just thought she had a tummy ache!). Right away they were 5 minutes apart. My 10:30 they were 3 minutes apart, so daddy started loading the car while mommy took a shower. Daddy had to force mommy into the car to take her to the hospital, because she was convinced it was just a tummy ache!
By the time we got to the hospital and parked, it was a little after midnight when we arrived at the admitting desk. They took us back to "triage" to check everything out to see if we would be staying. Mommy was only dilated to 2 cm, but since the contractions (yes, they were contractions, not a tummy ache!) were so close together, they decided to keep us. They got us to our delivery room at about 12:30, and mommy's water broke at 12:45. It was all downhill from there! Contractions came closer and closer and by 1:30 mommy felt like she needed to push. The nurse and everyone else thought she was crazy and even said "If you're to that point, you deserve a medal!" But when she checked, mommy was already dilated to 9.5 cm!!! I was well on my way! Just a half hour of pushing and out I came, with us being in the hospital less than 2 hours! I was in a hurry to meet everyone!
The doctor knew (and incidentally, the doctor BARELY made it to the delivery in time!) that mommy and daddy didn't know I was a girl, so she wanted to tell us right away. But I came out with my legs crossed and no one could see what I was! It was quite funny! The doctor was asking daddy, daddy was asking the doctor, and it was just a very funny scene. It's a girl!
